This reflection comes from the lineaments proposed by Fontanille in his text: “The Return to Point of View”. Such a concept seems to surely progress to the time of returning: that of interest in the study of perception starting from the contributions of phenomenology, which subvert the classical conception of the subject and object of knowledge. The abandonment of the ideal of absolute apprehension of the phenomena at the perception level constitutes a guidepost in the evolution of thought. Their incidence over other disciplines promotes a theoretical “progress” that accents the relative and imperfect character of the apprehension of the object. It is there that the contemporary semiotic reflection on “point of view” finds its foundation as a concept whose existence can be conceived as an effect of the fall of the traditional model of perception. The development of this work, that progresses with the reading of the text “El testigo” (The Witness) by Borges, contemplates the journey from consummate vision of the classical world to the exploration of the position of the glance that flames the relationships of the functional terms subject and object.
