Abstract

The following text is a critical introduction to an interview with
the philosopher and mathematician Luciano Boi. It has two
aims: On the first hand, to introduce central concepts of topology
referred to in the conversation and, om the second, to offer
philosophical interpretation of them.
Although the concept stems from the mathematical domain,
the extension given here to it is completely new.
The concept of topology referred to by Luciano Boi involves
epistemological and even ontological issues.
This introduction intends additionally to present topology as
a genuine philosophical issue, which deserves the highest consideration
in the light of current theoretical debate.
