Abstract

The Saussurian concept of value draws much from the fundamental concepts of classical economy. It expresses itself with the central notion of duality that is the true core around which the Saussurian conception of sign, the opposition of the synchronic and the diachronic, as well as the notion of value itself is ordered. This article intends to analyze these two concepts and extract some results in terms of the organization of a semiotic theory.
