This paper attempts to delve into the character of the aesthetic presences in the interior of the highland peasant house, investigate concretely the spatial language that appears and the distribution and syntax of the objects. This semiotic analysis undertakes the involved “sense-effects” making the underlying axiologies evident; as for example, the hierarchical structures or control forms that create real and imaginary borders between the public and the private.
The “form-of-life” concept is used as a theoretical support for facing the code complexity that dynamically interrelates inside domestic peasant space. From the aesthetic –appearance analysis, the ethical – being is deduced that underlies the first and permits the discovery of the fundamental values that guide their daily life.
