Entre el límite y el umbral. El borde en el motivo cristiano temprano de la hemorroísa

Resumen

A partir del siglo IV de nuestra era, las leyendas y textos apócrifos cristianos elaboraron el relato del milagro bíblico de la cura de la mujer con flujo de sangre (Marcos 5:24b-34) y lo asociaron con una imagen de Cristo. Además, dieron cuenta de un detalle particular: de una manera similar al dobladillo del manto de Cristo en el relato del milagro, el dobladillo del manto escultural de Cristo transfiere la potencia curativa (dynamis). A lo largo de muchos siglos, esta imagen de Cristo que data de los primeros cristianos se transformó narrativamente en el manto de la Verónica donde quedó impreso el Santo Rostro. Conocida como la “Verónica”, esta última imagen constituye un paradigma absoluto de la cultura visual cristiana. Este artículo sostiene que en la noción de dobladillo en las leyendas iniciales sobre una imagen de Cristo ya estaba contenida la quintaesencia paradigmática de la imagen que finalmente constituyó la “Verónica”. A partir de aquí, este artículo indaga la articulación del borde en el relato inicial del milagro bíblico acerca de la curación de la hemorroísa, precisamente para poner al descubierto su entrelazado contenido paradigmático antropológico.
